Director of Research
Director of Research - Reports to the Vice President of Research and Development. The primary responsibility for this position is to design and manage pre-clinical and clinical studies to support development, regulatory approval, and post-market surveillance of innovative new products that anticipate the needs of our customers. This responsibility includes: preparation and management of the annual research budget (approximately $1.4M annually), design of study protocols, preparation and negotiation of research contracts, management of compliance to study milestones, evaluation and analysis of study results, and assisting with regulatory document preparation and management of clinical research organizations. The secondary responsibilities for this position include: management of wet lab facilities, chairing monthly Research Committee meetings with upper management, and management/development of one direct report (administrative assistant).
Background Required:Pre-clinical and clinical research experience (5 years minimum). Statistical analysis experience for protocol development and study result evaluation. Involvement in at least one clinical trial to support a PMA/IDE submission to FDA. Knowledge of ISO 13485 requirements. Travel: 20%. Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Biomedical, Biochemistry, or Public Health – Epidemiology disciplines
Background Preferred (but not required): Educational concentration in biostatistics, epidemiology, and methods in clinical research. Medical Device Manufacturing Knowledge / Background. Prior OR / Surgical Suite Interaction. Education: MS Engineering Discipline, Biomedical, Biochemistry, or Public Health – Epidemiology disciplines.

Distributor Services Auditor
Responsibilities: Conduct in-field inventory audits of Biomet Microfixation distributors and hospitals. Responsible for reconciliation of distributor inventory. Research discrepancies between distributor and Biomet Microfixation warehouses. Report to management findings from inventory audit. Responsible to help other areas of the department.
Qualifications: Must be proficient in Excel and Word. A professional attitude with a good understanding of Biomet Microfixation products. Team oriented, and AS400 experience a must. Requires traveling 50 % of the time.

Events Specialist, Marketing
Provide support to the marketing team.
Duties will include travel arrangements for surgeons, sales team members and marketing staff. Provide assistance in coordination of educational events, training, and sales meetings. Support for disbursement of collateral materials, such as launch packets, field updates, special marketing collateral and other items as needed. Responsible for Lab setups/cleanups for special events and workshops. Candidate should possess high organizational skills, ability to communicate with all levels of management, distributors, and sales associates. Must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Must be available to work some weekends.
Qualifications: High School graduate / 2 year college degree preferred.

Loaner Clerk
Responsibilities: Prepare and send loaner sets for distributors and hospitals. Must be able to identify product and assemble sets. Will be responsible for updating spreadsheets, comparing inventory reports and making inventory transfers. Responsible for the tracking of late loaners and billing them. Must be able to communicate well with customers. Also, back-up for credits and shipping.
Qualifications: Must be able to communicate with good email and phone skills. MS Word and Excel experience required. AS400 experience a plus. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Good organizational skills required.

Product Manager
Responsibilities and minimum requirements
Manage assigned product line. Ability to successfully launch new products, forecast and manage inventory, build relationships with distributors and surgeons, prepare and implement marketing strategies and train on product line. Must have Bachelors Degree B. A. from four year college or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Rapid Response Engineer
Responsibilities: Develop surgical implants and instruments through all phases of design cycle including concept, prototype, testing, regulatory, production, and post completion support as well as modifications of existing products. Customs engineer will have regular contact with distributor sales force and surgeons regarding custom products. Maintain design control documentation to satisfy FDA and 13485 regulations.
Qualifications: Excellent time management skills in order to anticipate potential issues and independently complete several different types of projects simultaneously. Candidate will travel 1-3 days a month domestically and possible international travel. BS or MS in Biomedical, Mechanical engineering or related fields. Candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills. Medical device, and orthopedic experience a plus. Previous work experience as a design engineer doing large-scale projects a plus. Candidate must be good a research and problem solving.
